BHL Cargo Transportation for "Instar Logistics" LLC

In 2014, upon request of our Customers, our specialists carried out checking of technical feasibility of bulky and heavy lift (BHL) cargo transportation without resorting to tug and tow. Based on the calculations done and cargo stowage plan optimisation projects of transportation of equipment on motor vessels "Kapitan Sosenkov" and "Ivan Zhdanov" were developed for the route: from the port of Masan (Republic of Korea) to the port of Nikolayevsk-on-Amur for further navigation via inland waterways to the port of Komsomolsk-on-Amur (Russia). For the purpose of transportation of these cargoes and to comply with the navigation safety requirements the Federal Agency for Sea and River Transport had to take decision to provide the ship with a relief (exemption) from meeting the requirements of the International Convention SOLAS-74. Engineering survey of the ships and expert evaluation of projects for modification of ship navigational systems and bringing of the modified video systems into service were supervised by RMRS classification society representative.
